Volunteering to work with Himalayan Dental is for those with a sense of adventure. You have the challenge of travelling to these villages, staying in simple but comfortable trekking lodges, and treating patients is very much a challenge but very satisfying.

Trekking and Tourism
Through our connections with Keep Walking Nepal and World Expeditions trekking trips/tourist trips can be organised for volunteers as part of their visit to Nepal.
The devastating earthquake on the 25th April 2015 has caused extensive damage to many areas of Nepal. The second quake 10 days later caused widespread damage to the village of Junbesi and the surrounding valley. The medical centre is still functioning and our dental equipment survived. Nepal is slowly recovering.
Ghandruk escaped the effects of the earthquake, however the Sanijwani medical team was quick to move to areas which were affected to assist.
Helen and I were very lucky, after a successful seven weeks of clinics we flew out of Kathmandu 8 hours prior to the quake.
